Seniha Irem Akin, LLM (PhD Candidate)
Seniha Irem Akin joined as a PhD Researcher at Erasmus School of Law in 2021. She is responsible for one of the PhD projects under the nationwide sectoral plan on “Public and Private Interests: A New Balance”. The specific project she conducts is under the main theme “controlling the market for corporate control; conflicting public and private interests in listed companies”. Her research concerns the integration of environmental sustainability into corporate governance practices in listed companies in the EU. Akin has an Advanced LLM degree (cum laude) in European and International Business Law (Leiden University) which was funded by the European Union (Jean Monnet Scholarship). She holds an LLB degree from Bilkent University. Before coming to the Netherlands, she was working as a registered lawyer of the Istanbul Bar Association.
