Dr. Lottie Lane

Dr Lottie Lane is an Assistant Professor in Public International Law at the University of Groningen, where she obtained her PhD in 2018. Her current research addresses corporate responsibility for human rights in relation to artificial intelligence. Lottie conducts interdisciplinary research employing doctrinal and comparative methods as well as systematic content analyses and empirical research to assess the extent to which artificial intelligence governance initiatives at the international, regional and national level articulate human rights responsibilities for businesses developing and deploying artificial intelligence. Lottie is also Senior Advisor on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights to Slimmer AI, an international AI venture studio, and is member of the editorial board of the Springer Nature Social Sciences journal.
