Dr. Irene Visser is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Private and Notarial Law, University of Groningen. She finished her PhD in 2013 and since then she worked at the University of Utrecht and as a lawyer in the notarial practice. In 2019, she returned to the University of Groningen. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on consumer protection in mortgage enforcement proceedings, from a national and international perspective. In 2021, she started the expert group on forbearance and mortgage enforcement proceedings, an international network of experts in mortgage law and foreclosure.
