Arpi Karapetian is Assistant Professor of private law at the University of Groningen. Her research focuses on insolvency law, in particular company director and liquidator liability during insolvency proceedings, transaction avoidance and insolvency fraud. She is particularly interested in the interaction between different  insolvency procedures in terms of i.a. entrance requirements, creditor and employee protection in light of the distinctive objectives of the insolvency procedures. She uses a comparative interdisciplinary approach in which criminal law has a significant relevance. Karapetian defended her doctoral thesis cum laude in 2019. She is member of the editorial board of the Dutch Journal for Insolvency Law (Tijdschrift voor Insolventierecht)
